Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works and FalconWorks, a division of BAE Systems plc, announced a partnership to develop a new range of uncrewed autonomous air systems.
This collaboration will focus on creating a cost-effective and easily deployable system with multiple launch options, including airdrop, ground launch, marine launch, and launch from wide-body logistic aircraft. The initial emphasis will be on providing electronic warfare and attack capabilities that enhance the survivability of existing crewed combat aircraft while delivering significant destructive capabilities.
"We're excited to collaborate with BAE Systems, combining our expertise in rapid prototyping and advanced development to deliver game-changing capabilities," said OJ Sanchez, Vice President and General Manager of Lockheed Martin Skunk Works. "By working together, we're opening new possibilities for our customers and advancing the future of autonomous systems."
Dave Holmes, Managing Director of BAE Systems' FalconWorks division, commented, "Through our partnership with Lockheed Martin, we will deliver disruptive capabilities that will significantly benefit our military customers, enabling them to meet the operational demands of today’s battlefield effectively."
